NXT1 is the name under which I produce and release experimental electronic music.
The first released track is a subgenre of Phonk, called “Cruisephonk”, made for TikTok drift edits.
Aiming to blend ’90s Impalas and lowrider nostalgia, Cruisephonk is a new style of phonk that mixes the dark, heavy drive of Drift Phonk with the smooth, soulful vibe of ’90s West Coast car culture. It’s music built for drifting cars, slow cruises, and TikTok edits.
At its core, Cruisephonk uses distorted 808 kicks to power the basslines, with glitchy vocal chops, vinyl crackle, hydraulic squeaks, and brake FX for that raw street sound. But instead of cowbells, Cruiseephonk leans on samples that throw back to ’90s Impalas, lowrider nostalgia, G-Funk synths, classic R&B, soul, and Chicano oldies.
The result is a blend of slow, soulful tracks and funky, laid-back beats — perfect for rolling down the boulevard with the windows low, or cutting into a TikTok drift edit. Like ’90s G-Funk, it’s relaxed and smooth, but like Drift Phonk, it’s built heavy and hypnotic.
